Welcome to the World

Welcome Jazmyn, Lukis, Josephine, Aiden, Alex, and Graiden.... Did I miss anyone?? I thought with the birth of so many babies this month I would write a blog about all the wonderful things that these little ones will get to experience. We forget sometimes in the mad rush of life, how absolutely wonderful it really is. I encourage whoever reads this to add their own wonderful life experiences to mine. So here is my list:

1. Dreaming - as adults we sometimes take for granted the power of dreaming, we seem to set goals for ourselves and label them as dreams, but what happened to pretending.... dreaming we were princesses, and living in castles, riding ponies through the fields of flowers. Well those were some dreams of mine as a child. Babies, I hope you never stop dreaming.

2. Singing - When I was a child, all my family were singers, I remember long car rides to Grandma's farm filled with songs. I would just belt out whatever was in my heart, now I occasionally sing to a great song on the radio, but I don't sing for the love of song, because I know I would butcher the song anyway, but who cares, I'm not trying to be the next Canadian Idol.

3. Faith - Isn't faith a wonderful thing. It is something that I have come to value in my life, faith not only in God which is so important but faith in myself as well. God has never ceased to stop providing for me, I always trust that he will give me what I need, but sometimes I doubt myself and what I am capable of doing, and when you really stop to think about it, that kind of is like doubting God, that he's not going to provide me with the time, or skills I need. So for me having Faith is one of life's most wondeful experiences.

4. Love - Love is so many things and so different for everyone, but I would never choose to live a life without it. There is nothing I value greater then the love of my family, the love I have for my son, and the love I have for my friends. Knowing that I am blessed with relationships with people who really love me is sometimes an overwhelming thought. However I do think that falling in love is one of life's greatest experiences. Even though I have had more broken hearts, I would do it all over again because being loved, and loving are such precious gifts. I can hardly wait for the day when I fall in love with the man who God has planned for me.

5. Childbirth - I know for those of you who know me well have heard me complain about how much being pregnant sucked, and how much worse labour was, but in reality, I wish that every human being could experience it just once. The feeling of growing a little person inside you, and the miracle of babies its just amazing, only a mother could understand this experience.

6. Snow - As awful as it is right now, and as cold and brutal as that blizzard was last week, I think that everyone at least once should have the chance to play in it. Remember as kids building snow forts, Snow men, snow angels and the ultimate snow ball fight, Winter can be sooo much fun.

7. The Ocean - Its so true how small you feel when you are beside the ocean. One of my favorite activities is going to an Aquarium and watching the fish. It is so relaxing and so wonderful to see the fishies swimming around. I even love swimming in lakes and oceans, I actually prefer it to swimming pools. To me it is one of lifes greatest things to see.

Well this blog is starting to turn into a novel, but I would say that today those are my favorite things and I hope that all the babies will feel as warm and fuzzy as I do when these things happen to them. Congratulations again to all of my friends on the wonderful additions to their families.

GOD's Answered Prayer

Well it is official, I am now a permanent employee for AREVA. AREVA is the larges Uranium mining company in the world and is based in France. I have been hired as the Administrative Assitant in Corparate Affairs. That means that I work with the executives, and VP's for the company in Saskatoon. This is such an awesome answer to prayer. No more job hunting, no more worrying about finances, I have been blessed with a wonderful career opportunity. I am officially starting on Monday, the wage is excellent, benefits are incredible and the position is extremely challenging and satisfying, my collegues are so friendly. It is everything I wanted and more.

Thank you so much to everyone who was praying for me during the last few months. I'm glad that it is all over and done and that I can focus on building a career and not about how to pay bills. Eric is pretty excited as we will have a stable routine again. I am so excited!! Thanks again for the prayers!

What About That Snow??

WOW!! What a week hey? The worst blizzard in like 50 years... haha, it was unbelievable, Magestic, Frightening, Awesome! Nature and God never cease to amaze me. We had one of the worst snow storms in 25 years and we survived! With very little damage, schools only closed for a day, citizens out it the cold just so they can help everyone get home safe. Isn't it wonderful how communities come together in times of need. It brings a smile to my heart listening to everyone's Blizzard stories of people helping people, when all you want to do yourself is just get home, but you know that that car in front of you that is stuck needs you to get out of your nice warm vehicle into the freezing winds and snow. God Bless all of you angels out there!!

I have no significant Blizzard stories, It just took me an extra hour to drive the 15 minutes home. But it was scary none the less, it was like driving and not having a clue as to where you are on the road, if there were any cars around you... I just hope I never have to do it again.

Eric on the other hand was thrilled with the snow, and doesn't understand why he can't play in it. I will let him bundle up and build a fort or whatever when its a bit warmer.

I had the opportunity to clear my dads sidewalk, I believe it took Kitrina and I about 2,5 hours to clear the snow. My dad is off in Texas for a bit of a holiday this month and kindly bought a snowblower for us to use is his absense, I'm not sure what possessed him to buy it this year, but boy am I glad he did, because if it took 2.5 hours with a snowblower, without it I'm afraid that we'd still be out there shoveling. Now were was my community then??? :) just kidding.

As for my week, its been fairly laid back, I'm still loving work. Just for the record, I am not a permanent employee it is just a temporary job at AREVA. But it is the most wonderful place that I have ever worked. My collegues are great, the position is challenging... everything I could ask for in a career. So keep praying! And for my Australian friend, I am actually positioned in Canada, Saskatoon SK, so any family or friends that may have read his comments, I have not packed up and moved to France, however if the opportunity should arise, I would not turn down the offer.

I could babble on and on but I think that's enough for this week.

I HATE BLOGGING

So I'm not so sure what the great thing about blogging is. I started my account in December and I haven't been able to post another blog until today. Why? you may be thinking, perhaps because of the Birthday parties I complained about in my first blog, Christmas, New Years, Work, all that stuff, but you are so wrong. It is because I could not log back in.

Weird hey? at first I thought well maybe its because I have a Dinausaur aged computer which is very slow, but no, that wasn't it, and then I thought maybe I don't know my username or password, but I could sign in. I just couldn't add a post. So enjoy this one for it may be the only one you read until next month!

My life right now is fairly quiet. I continue to look for meaningful, challenging work and am enjoying the temporary positions I get assigned to. This month I am working at AREVA which is a great place to work, I would love to get on permanent there as they treat all of their employees like gold. My position is Legal Administrative Assistant, and I work with all of the VP's as well as the CEO for the company. The greatest part is that it is a company based in FRANCE so I get to practice speaking french with my co-workers.

Other than that everything is normal. Eric is back at school and enjoys being around all his friends again. What a blessed year he has had, he continues to make huge steps in his fine motor skills, he has made lots of friends this year, and he is just so happy to have stable routine. Thank you for all the prayers and encoragement!

So here it is my first blog posting. I'm not sure what people are expecting me to say, but there isn't much about me. Right now life is pretty good. I am blessed with a wonderful son who can't tell me he loves me enough times in a day, and who is also taking up much of my time right now.

I am in the process of decorating a birthday cake. Every year for the last 9 years, I have been making myself crazy trying to create the perfect birthday party for a kid who could care less about all the details. All he wants are his friends around and a cake. However once a few years back we made the mistake of throwing 2 parties, a small one for his friends, and a family one on his real birthday which is the 23rd of December which is yes, 2 days before Christmas and none of his friends are ever around.

So anyway back to my story..... a few years ago we started the 2 party thing and now it is a tradition... so not only 1 birthdya party during the Christmas holidays but 2. But you know, it kind of has to be this way. One because Eric's family is so big and there just isn't anywhere we could all go with all of Eric's friends as well and two, well because my parents are divorced and both of them in the same place at the same time isn't what I'd call a good party. So anyway yeah we started this tradition of two parties, and this year it was just expected, or should I say demanded that there be a celebration with family members on the day of his birthday. Well when Eric has his mind made up its sometimes tough to change it (especially when it comes to something important to him like his birthday and family).

This actually works out very good for everyone involved. My mom who just purchased a new home jumped at the chance of showing off her new place and she loves her grandson so anything to make him happy. So now I am in the process of decorating a cake (with the help of a very inexperienced cake decorator and best friend) and it turned out really really cute. It is a nutcracker cake and it took us all afternoon today to decorate, just so that 10 little kids can eat it. Yep the things we do, and then planning the food, well for the pool party the boys are getting pizza because that's easy, and the adult party.... ha that is where you go all out and no one even cares, so this year the idea came to me from Eric's other grandmother to make it a potluck event. So I am trying to make a meal plan and allocate dishes, which saves me work the day of, but makes life a little more complicated when you're not sure who's exactly coming.

So that is my life this week! I will right again and let you all know how the parties turned out.
